   Usually the deck restoration process involves two major steps. The first step is a proper deck cleaning. The second step is to apply a professional stain/sealer. Of course, proper masking of plants, and the house are required to protect from overspray where areas of the deck are sprayed. Most of the deck is done with a combination of spraying and back-brushing.

Damage to Decks.
   Over time, a deck can be damaged by UV rays ( the sun ), and other things such as bugs and moisture. When moisture is allowed to penetrate a deck without the proper amount of sealant and sun to dry it out, mold and mildew can result. Mold and mildew over time can damage a deck or any wood product for that matter.

   Moss and mildew can be removed with a thorough cleaning. After the moss and mildew are removed, and the deck cleaned, a proper deck stain and deck sealant are applied to preserve the deck. This preservation process protects the deck from the sun, bugs and mosses and algae. There are actually fungicides in the stain we use.
